Court History

The Santa Rosa City Recorder's Court (also known as the City Court and Recorder's Court was a municipal-level court that handled misdemeanor offenses. The Santa Rosa Court came under the jurisdiction of the Sonoma County Municipal Court following court reorganization and consolidation under 1950's California Proposition 3, "Inferior Court Reorganization," and was superceded by The Sonoma County Municipal Court's Santa Rosa Municipal Court. The Sonoma County Municipal Court was itself absorbed into the Superior Court following the voter-authorized reorganization in 1998, California Proposition 220.

Biographical / Historical

The Santa Rosa Recorder's Court was a municipal-level court that handled misdemeanor offenses.
