This collection is comprised of 23 diaries kept by Ray Bruer when he worked as warden for the California Department of Fish and Game, first in the Clear Lake area of Lake County and then in Sonoma County, from 1937 to his retirement in 1970. Bruer logged dates, times, locations and descriptions of his duties and patrols; licenses he issued; weather observations; and numbers of fish caught or game spotted. Years missing are 1940, 1945, 1948, 1950-1953.
